After a lovely lonely walk along the canal, it was very warm in the garden so the paddling pool was out - much splashing and joy. However, why she insists on standing right next to me before shaking, I do not understand.
Trying to catch the water! |
Then I edited the photo because I thought it looked like they were screaming for help!
So I had left over egg whites to deal with. Whisked them, added sugar, popped them on paper, baked them, filled with whipped cream and topped with mandarins and raspberries. The 4 little ones were for chef's tasting only.

It's a little bit cooler here today so am not sure we will be sitting out in the garden. The washing is out already and we've been to Sainsrobbers so I could buy a birthday card for Mr 22. Poor him having a lockdown birthday. He will just be getting money to spend on what he wishes when we are released into the wild again.
Observations in the shop were mostly shock at the fact there is still NO FLOUR on the shelves. Where is it all? Who has it all? Not me. I have maybe half a bag of each left. On the plus side - I can't bake much and eat it.
I have been sewing oh and MY QUILT KIT JUST ARRIVED!!
I'll blog t tomorrow!!
Lots of love from
Rachel* new blog design - not sure about it yet mind* Radiostar xx
Your header photo is wonderful! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteAww thank you Jenn xx
DeleteI like your new design, especially the photo header :) We met a lovely chap named Albert on our walk yesterday, who looked very similar to your gorgeous Bluebell. I can't get any flour either, not even from the farm shop. X
ReplyDeleteIm thinking of tilling tthe lawn over and planting some wheat! I bet Albert was a very good boy!
DeleteNo flour here either, we have some left but not loads, oh well. It's raining here and I'm so happy, not light rain, but heavy bit like a thunder storm, just no thunder. Sat inside doing crochet.
ReplyDeleteNo rain to speak of here, but I sat inside and sewed x
DeleteI LOVE the new banner photo. Those eyes!
ReplyDeletexx
I am besotted!
DeleteNot sure where the flour went, but I suspect that when it left town, it took all of the toilet paper with it! Lol
ReplyDeleteIt's ridiculous!
DeleteI love the new look, much easier to read and the pictures just pop, especially Blubell!
ReplyDeleteI think you are right about it being clearer to read.
DeleteI like the new look but whatever you decide to do the photo of Bluebell has to stay. My nanna used to make egg custard - it was bloody delicious and Mum makes wonderful pavlovas.
ReplyDeleteI'm half heartedly thinking of getting the sewing machine out but I'm not quite fully committed so may leave it for today. Not sure I can stand all the mess I make when sewing on top of all the mess other people seem to be good at making as well!
Watched Quiz yesterday and really enjoyed it. Then we watched Gogglebox and I had to laugh when the woman in the caravan was watching it and she said 'ooh he doesn't know the answer'. Obviously he did because him winning £1million was the whole point of the programme lol. Have a lovely weekend. xx
I only just saw that Gogglebox last night and I laughed my head off at that bit - I love Jenny and whatshisname - they are so funny - did you see the one where he was eating her facepack cream out the fridge??!!
DeleteThumbs up on the new design much easier to read and love love love your header photo.
ReplyDeleteMx
Thanks M I am a bit madly head over heels for her!
DeleteI love your new look and I love the edited custard tart pics! Our latest Hard To Find item is kitchen paper! Kitchen paper, I ask you. Just why? Visions of people with cupboards full of the stuff, cackling in a corner saying 'well we won't run out now will we?'! xx
ReplyDeletePeople just need to STOP BUYING ALL THE THINGS I WANT TO BUY!
DeleteMmmmm prefer the old design but then again I hate change, the picture of Bluebell though has to stay m’dear
ReplyDeleteI dislike change too! But I think I do like this one - think it is easier to read on my aged eyes!!
