See you in 2016!

You may already know that I care not a jot for 'celebrating' New Year's Eve. I cannot stand New Year.
These are my last few NYEposts. You saw 2011/12 yesterday with my poem!
This was the year after

Great comments on that post!

The year after...

And then finally, last year...

As you can see, I'm at least consistent!!
I do hate all the New You crap with a passion. I hate all the bloody weight watchers adverts. I hate January, it's so bloody long and dull.
I think it's because I love Christmas and all its twinkliness. January is stripped bare and stark. And getting back to normal. Ugh to all of that! I'm all about the past and not the future! I'll be in bed when the clock strikes 12. Today I will be cutting Christmas Cards into gift tags. Tomorrow I will de twinkle the dining room. Le sigh!

This made me laugh yesterday!

Whatever you do ( or not, like me )to get the next few days over with, may you be in good health with it all!

I've had a shocking start to the day too. With the grim realisation that I'm not back at work on Tuesday...

I have to go back on Monday!!!

Lots of love from
Rachel *devastated* Radiostar xxx

Back to the grind on Saturday for moi so you can count your blessing ya bugger ;-) The very best of wishes to you and yours my ickle northern friend. x

  3. I'll be sleeping. Same as always. Although there always some morons who like to have the loudest fireworks in the history of man set off, every. sodding. year. It wakes me up, and just like you don't want to make the Hulk angry, you don't want to wake Sadie unexpectedly, especially with moronic drunken chortling accompanying said fireworks.
You are consistent with your end of year posts! And I love that cartoon. so very true.
Anyway. I'm off. Have a lovely end to the year, wishing you a superb 2016.
    xx

p.s Violet is back at school on Tuesday. it's going to come as such a shock to have to get up, dressed, and out by 8.30 each day! Urgh.

  4. No resolutions here either Rachel. I'm not fussed about new year celebrations although hubby....ever the child will be letting off some rockets. In fact he has just walked through the door with them grinning like a Cheshire cat. They just make me cringe letting them off at midnight when decent folk are in bed.
Anyway........a Happy New Year to you and yours-x-

  5. January is flat after all the sparkle, but we love snugly nights at home, scarfs, mitts and hats, parking a cold bum on a warm radiator, shall I go on...................

  6. I had to go to work yesterday such a drag but now I'm off till Wednesday (smiles) I enjoyed your past posts and it pretty much sums it up for me too I hate New Year and can't understand all the hype, another year over is scary where does the time go? thing is I don't particularly like Christmas either and I always breath a huge sigh of relief when it's over. I'm just a miserable git haha all the best for 2016! :) xx

  7. No time for resolutions, staying up late or eating and drinking myself into a stupor. I will watch a bit of telly, try to at least catch a bit of Jules and be snoring my head off before midnight. I have walked 3 miles so far today and am about to take Ben out so that could be another one notched up. I am still enjoying the Christmas feel of the house but it will all come down tomorrow, enough is enough.

    2. I wandered round the garden an am dismayed/confused to see almost all of my spring bulbs coming up. I hope they make it to flower. I'm watching Panda Babies and am transfixed!

  8. I generally like New Year, quite often because I'm usually really glad to see the back of the previous one! I don't even mind January because there's still the chance of snow which I love. Your realisation about going to work is a bit like when I wake up and think oohh lovely Sunday lie-in, then realise it's Monday and I've got to get up. Horrible feeling. Wishing you a Very Happy New Year in your bed. xx

  9. Every year we are asked what are you doing for New Year's Eve and we always say nothing. We are very content doing nothing. If you lived nearer I would be happy to invite you round to do nothing with us so long as you left by 10pm so we can get to bed on time.

    1. I'd have to decline your invitation as I'd be far too busy doing nothing in my own house!!!

  10. Dinner shortly, then a bit of tv and then bed, well before midnight thanks! I find that February is harder than January for some reason, I think because I am busy and then it slows again before life picks back up. I hope that your January this year will be a good one! Happy New Year! Here's to a good 2016! xx

  11. We, too, will be in bed at 12. This year has been horrendous for us health wise and we will be glad to see the back of it. All the best with your new year and remember to look forward to the next holiday. It will be round soon enough.
