Hello Month 2 2018

This year I made a concerted effort not to whinge and moan about January, but to be thankful for something every single day. It passed more pleasantly and more quickly.
January, you were great!
February, so far you've been freezing, but beautifully blue and sunny. There are teeny purple iris flowering in the front, along with some orange crocus. This is a mystery, as I planted ( and as old blog readers might know, I only ever plant/grow ) purple ( blue ) ones! But I was thankful for them so they can stay!
I was at my Mental Health Champions Network meeting this afternoon. It was great. I also walked back to work afterwards - 26 minutes it took me. It was a gorgeous day and despite other pavement users pissing me off under the bridge, it felt great to be out in the fresh air.
There were some speakers there who were currently running a sleep clinic for families where children were poor sleepers. I'm breaking all the rules right now! Blogging, in bed, on my iPad!!! One website I can signpost ( icky bloody 'in' word such professionals, sorry, practioners, use at conventions like this ) you to is The Sleep Council. Obviously don't read it in bed on a tablet or suchlike as it is against the law.

I am actually dropping asleep here, so that'll do for now. Anyone watching Next of Kin? It's SO good!
Lots of love from

  1. The icy wind drove me away from the garden yesterday, I did try the greenhouse but that seemed almost as bad. It couldn't have been though as I found a ripe lemon on my little tree. Lemon meringue pie anyone? My Iris are flowering bravely but the crocus bulbs seem to have stayed in bed so far.

    1. I am impressed with your ripe lemon find! I'm having slices of lemon in my green tea with ginger every morning because it's supposed to be good for me. I actually do really enjoy it though so it's no hardship xxx

  2. I have a sure fire sleep thing - I turn on my electric blanket on low for 1 hour (it has a timer) and start reading. I've never lasted out the hour before it switches off, the light has gone out and I'm in the Land of Nod well before. It works when I wake in the very early morning too (around 2:00-ish).
Shame I won't be able to do it come the summer.

    1. I have no trouble mostly falling asleep. It's when I have to wake up for a middle of the night wee that I can't then get back to sleep!

  5. I'm happy about the rugby too but, being English, better cheer them I guess

    1. Hehehe I am English too, just prefer the Welsh. I dislike several of the England players too. I don't like sulky bullies that some of them can play like!!
