Note to self..

I must stop buying boots! But the are in the sale and so warm and comfy!! I've been keeping my eye out for some in the Amazon deals and for once struck lucky!!

The tan boots are some old faithfuls but so comfy! The navy ones are Rieker boots and comfy from day 1. As are the red boots, but the sole isn't up to
Much. But they are soft red leather and so lovely. Want to keep them but probably won't!  The black ones are by rocket dog? I'm not a label person at all. As long as I like them and they are comfy, I'll have 'em!

Now for some knitting news...hardly news but there's blocking going on. These are two
More little waistcoats and I went a bit fancy and added a couple of flowers to one!

There's also a matching beret going on...( hope to finish it after I've blogged! )

I've doubled stranded the wool to
Make it thicker and warmer.
A new knitting project to be unveiled soon...involves this..
.

And I'm planning on making two bags, one with this gorgeous map of the world oilcloth and the liberty kit one!

Just need to get motivated and find the time.
Things are pretty slow here really. I think there's a hefty dose of the big fat Fed Ups going around too.  A lot of it is to do with the fact I'm going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark.
I do like being snuggled up in bed when it's so cold outside. I will admit to breaking out my full flannette sheets/duvet cover combo. However, still only one Autumn tog quilt. Full fat version is being saved until its Baltic.

I have sad news. RIP littleTheo..

He was nearly 2 1/2 years old and we know they don't last forever.
You may remember this post...

And then this one

He was a well loved lovely little hamster. Why oh why do we put ourselves through this heartbreak??

I was going to do a post on the Christmas Adverts but I haven't got time now! But I did think the Sainsbury's one with the Gogglebox families on it was GENIUS!

Right, I must away to my chores*

Lots of love from be from Rachel *So many crafty projects, so little time* Radiostar

    1. The picture of him chewing on his bars makes me laugh because if you look,carefully...the top door to the cage is open! I hope the recipient likes her flower!

  2. I'm a boots or sandals kind of gal. Found a pair I really liked inM and S yesterday but not my size-sold out and not able to be ordered. Have ordered two other pairs on t'interweb but not holding out much hope!! I'm crafting like a dervish here for all my volunteer classes and all christmas themed. The grinch is helping me out by spraying some stuff for me. Our 10.5 tog duvet has been on for a few weeks up here in Scotland and I'm typing this on my coffee break whilst wearing three layers of clothes. Happy crafting, Rachel. Catriona

  3. My new boots are Rieker and are so comfortable, lovely warm toes here. Love your fabrics can't wait to see what you make, I'm colouring my hair now then I will have my sewing machine out. Are you sure it's the going to and from work in the dark getting you down, or is it just going to work the problem.

    1. I love work. It's just the fact it's dark when I go n get back. Or maybe just the fact I have to go. But then I think I wouldn't be able to have lovely new boots and fabric if I didn't!

  5. Sorry about the little wee guy. Those boots are fantastic. Why do you have to return them? I'll bet you could justify them somehow. -Jenn

  6. I love boots too but can I find a pair I like this year....big fat NO.
I'm going to try and get some sewing done this week....no knitting here because as you know I am useless.
Poor little Theo. After our last one died I just said 'no more'. It's just too heartbreaking when you lose them.
Huge full fat feather duvet on here along with brushed cotton cover and sheets....and for the last two nights a cosy little Ruby shaped body to snuggle up to. I'll miss her tonight.
Hope your Fed Ups bugger off soon.
    Hugs-x-

  7. Sad news about Theo. No matter how long you've had pets it's always sad when they leave us. Laughing at your 'chores'. My reward for doing chores is crafting. Strange that the reward lasts 3 times as long as the chores :) Love the wool you've used for the waistcoat and get you with your fancy pants flowers! Can't wait to see the beret. Have a good week at school. Oh and the red boots would definitely be a keeper here. xx

    1. I have kept the red boots. I can easily ignore the housework and craft instead. I don't even feel guilty about it!

  8. Sorry about little Theo. No, I don't know why we do it - doesn't matter whether you let a hoofing great big creature into your heart, or a tiny little furry one, still hurts like cr*p when they go.

  9. Poor Theo. They do break your heart don't they. But the pleasure they bring us far outweighs it in the long run.
Love the little w aistcoats. They must have made a welcome relief from knitting the large jumper for the HG.
Boots? Keep buying I say. We're Northerners, we need boots not cold footsies. X
