I was too ashamed to take a photo of the mess!
My top tip would be to
BUY THE BLOODY PARTY RINGS!!
My next tip would be to cover the worktop with cling film when icing. Normally I do...but not tonight! Why?? It's Monday - my tired day- I made a meat n potato pie for tea - suet pastry, filling cooked yesterday, served with petit pois
and I've faffed about with these chuffing biscuits for my class!
They were promised, that if they won the Attendance Cup three weeks in a row ( awarded to the class with pupils in school on time ) , I would bake for them. Again! I'm such a soft touch!
Hope they like em.
I'm off to bed!!
Na night
Lots of love from

Ahhhh Jane... I've missed you xxx
DeleteThey are so cool! x
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, the effort was worth it when the children were ever so slightly chuffed!
DeleteWow, that's dedication for you! well, by you actually. The pie looks scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteI do keep saying I love my job!
DeleteI think they look good, the boy has requested party rings for his graduation party, are you taking orders? about 320 should be fine thanks :)
ReplyDeleteSadly I read your comment about 320 party rings too late! Hope it didn't spoil his day!!!
DeleteI think they look great. Icing sugar gets everywhere doesn't it? (I'm not helping, am I?) xx
ReplyDeleteCheers! It wasn't the icing sugar as such - it was the dribbles and puddles of glacé icing everywhere!
Deletemight have been a faff, but they look so lovely!
ReplyDeleteAs does that pie. Yum. Want some next time please!
I'll let you know in plenty of time! Bring a fork :-)
DeleteWish I'd been in class to enjoy those...especially the pink ones. I could not be faffed to make them myself. They are very spoilt boys and girls - I hope they were grateful? X
ReplyDeleteOne of them declared me to be the best cook ever!
DeleteAbove and beyond the call of duty I reckon - but very lovely
ReplyDeleteThe little darlings just tug on my old heart strings and I don't mind treating them one little bit :-)
DeleteMy icing is never right, either too ** runny or too ** thick. I can never gauge the correct amount of icing sugar and end up with far too much used. There's always a film of white all over the work surfaces and gooey bits on the floor ready to be stepped in. You volunteered to make biscuits? Definitely above and beyond the call of duty. I bet you licked your fingers once or twice, didn't you! Soon be there.

It took me ages to get it anything near the consistency I wanted! Plus I was rushing as midnight was fast approaching!
DeleteBet they tasted lovely, any way perfection is over rated.
ReplyDeleteHear hear!
DeleteThose party rings look great - I'd buy them - I love party rings.
ReplyDeleteThey tasted yum, I have to admit! Not great for the waistline mind!
DeleteHaha I think your top tip is great, but having said that the ones you've made look really really good. Hope your class savoured every mouthful. xx
ReplyDeleteIt was a blissfully quiet 5 seconds as they ate them!! They loved them!
