Today's post is just going to be the usual mismatch of rambley nonsense.
First off, it's windy, cold and grey outside as opposed to clear blue sky, bright sunshine yesterday. The HG and I went for a stroll ( in a bid to help the 'Get Rachel Thinner' cause ) . Halfway down the canal I discovered I'd not set my watch activity record thingy off, but it was ok BC I'd set the Map My Walk thingy on my phone. Only when I got home to look at the stats - I'd not pressed 'start workout'!! So I don't know how many steps I did! But obviously, it was loads. I did look like I was out on a walk with my carer though.
Picture the scene. He's 6ft, I'm 5ft tall and round! He strides along and I shuffle quickly behind him! I was wearing leggings and a calf length navy dress and my trainers which are actually technical running shoes, they'll never be technically used, but they are really pretty.
CiCC. This is Care Int Community Chic. I pull it off very well!
Knitting news
The HG's Jumper update.
The back is done. Am onto sleeve 2 now, then I'll do the front.
Cushion update.
I think I'm definitely neater on the non bamboo pin as I predicted. However, I've double checked and I don't like the pattern. I've cabled up a bit and will carry on but look at how the button band is k2p2, and then where I've started the main body, some parts match up and others don't. I've the correct amount of stitches on, I've made no mistakes as apart from it not sitting as straight, the top piece is the same. I might have a go at re writing the pattern to get it looking better!! I'm not sure that a double row of garter stitch would have improved it before starting the main part? I'll carry on with this until the end and then I'll see.
Right, am off to see a friend and her gorgeous girl this morning. Then I might just pootle until tea time! Looking forward to the next part of Marcella tonight if I can stay awake!
I can hear Barry downstairs. He's been at his other Mummy's for the first week of the hols and now he's here!
I'm always pimping his cage, she says! Last time I bought him a willow ring which he was highly suspicious of...
Here he is thinking WTAF have you put in my cage now you mad bint???
But I knew he'd love it! It frames him beautifully!
Lots of love from
Rachel * might do post 526 tomorrow* Radiostar xxx
Know what you mean about blogging and comments. The 'conversations' are often better than the post on mine as well. Sat here splitting my sides with an image of you and HG on a walk with your CICC look. The cushion would have me twitching. I like things to be in straight lines so one pattern or the other would be fine, but not a mixture of both. Love the last picture of Barry Budgie. Enjoy your day. xx
ReplyDeleteThe thrill of having comments is such a buzz! I love them, I love them, I really do! Barry Budgie's nickname is Stinky McFeathers to his school mummies - me and two others. He normally shies away from having a bath. He really is th Lord of everything. Look at him sat there eyeing us all with contempt! Actually he's rarely in his cage - we let him out at school as well as our homes. He's a bit special too we think be a use he won't talk! He does really good impressions of my whistle and my friends. And the squawking - he really lets you know if you've annoyed him!! The children at school utterly adore him. He's a great calming influence on angry little souls who are struggling and he's a great noise barometer! The noisier the class, the noisier he gets!
DeleteI think a photograph of the whole walking ensemble is required in order to for us pass judgement. :-) Please carry on waffling. I enjoy it so much. Have yourself a lovely day. X
ReplyDeleteI think not!!
DeleteI'd easily pass an audition for a Compo replacement in Last of the Summer Wine, except I don't wear a hat!
I just put my hood up instead!!!
DeleteHa! That style is popular around here, there are lots of us who wear "normal" clothes with trainers or walking shoes to allow tramping around on the sand. I'm always in a frock and Tevas!
ReplyDeleteI might have to move!!!
DeleteROFL at you and your CiCC. So funny-x-
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to say I reached *that* age where I do t give a hoot about what I look like many years ago!
DeleteI'm 6 feet plus and my wife isn't. I like to stride out but she walks very slowly. I do my best to keep ?up ?down. When we go to the supermarket my job is to push the trolley. If I go too far ahead in the aisle I get told off for that. I find pushing the trolley slowly compels me to hum Chopin's funeral march. I can't help it now, it comes out automatically. I get told off for that too.
ReplyDeleteGood! You deserve it! Your poor wife!!!
DeleteBless the framed budgie. I am not allowed out in Ci C garb. Teenager would physically restrain me. x
ReplyDeleteOh but it's such an important part of embarrassing one's offspring!!!
DeleteCongratulations on your 526th post I don't know how many I've done will have to have a look, I enjoy reading your blog and I never miss a post although I don't always have the time to comment, I wish there was a like button like there is on Facebook I love your trainers and well done for doing the walk, I'm so lazy and have discovered I prefer to dance, it still shows as steps on the fitbit. I'm sure the sweater will look fine when it's done. Barry looks very cute inside his willow ring. :) x
ReplyDeleteAwww thanks Linda X I think there is a gadget button I can put on - that you can click to say if the post was funny, interesting or crap! I've seen them on other blogs!! Will look into it....
DeleteLoving the sound of the CICC look!
ReplyDeleteRod Stewart wrote a song about me. She wears it well.....
DeleteWe really NEED a pic of your in your Chic Cicc exercise kit! and congrats on 525.
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about knitting except how to knit a dishcloth so no help on that.
Trust me Sue, we really don't!! I've never ever knit a dishcloth!
DeleteYour outfit sounds rather fetching. I favour a Worzel Gummidge look myself when walking the hound. I'm also pleased to announce that I'm a whole inch taller than you xx
ReplyDeleteWe'd look a right pair out n about together! Well done on that inch!
DeleteI think Barry likes his new hoop. Congratulations on your 525 post. I love reading your ramblings they're such fun.
