Through my front window the sun is positively tropical. The winter blue sky is crystal clear and it's so warm and lovely.
On the outside of my front window there is a very different picture. It's frecking freezing! The biting wind has a chill factor of minus 3. However it didn't stop me from falling in love with these gorgeous little blue irises. ( regular readers will know about my blue garden and penchant for only growing blue flowers )
It took two days to plant them. Day one I removed the pebbles off my round little cobble hole ( this is the front ) and I had to come back in as my fingers were quite literally frozen to the bone !
Day two - never have plants been bunged in a hole so quick!
Anyway I think they are sweet and cheery and a billy bargain at £1.75 each!
I'm a bit , ok, very grumpy today because it's the last day of half term and I've not done everything I was going to. Also, in a cruel twist of fate, the very night after bragging to my mum about "sleeping right through" I woke up at 4.29. I could not go back to sleep until approx three minutes before the HG's alarm went off at 6.
Just call me Victoria Meldrew today.
Oh and Spring does not start til March 21st. It is still Winter. My rankles rise at folk in twitter who say it's Winter when it's still Autumn and who are now saying Spring WHEN IT IT STILL WINTER.
One more thing - Werther's original advert - I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A CARAMEL SHOP. IS THERE SUCH A THING AS A CARAMEL SHOP? DO I NEED TO SUE MY MOTHER BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T TAKE ME TO ONE AND THEREFORE I AM A VICTIM OF NEGLECT? AND THE GIRL'S/WOMAN'S LIPS WHEN SHE PUTS THE GORGEOUS GOLD IN HER MOUTH REALLY REEEEALLY ANNOYS ME.
Told you I was grumpy.
Aw, loverly liccle blue plants. And yes its still winter, took kids to the park, harrychops was snugly asleep in his pram, other 3 were constantly running round saying they were hot and I stood watch, guarding my little angels freezing my everything off! Roll on April when we will have our 2 wks of summer lol
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are beautiful. I kill all plants bought a mint plant 3 weeks ago and it is dead already :-( Fortunately I have a gardener who works for me once a week or our yard would be full of dead plants.
ReplyDeleteHEEELLOOOOOOOO! Where ya been? Mwah! :o)
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to say anything about your 'cold' windchill (cold? hahahhahahaha)no I'm not (minus three? luxury!)because that would be rude.
