I baked; it's been eaten

Already!! I only baked yesterday.
I, ahem, caramelised some cherry scones
It didn't seem to matter!
I made a loaf of seeded granary - almost gone..
I made some toffee buns and some Aunty Olive's.
I had an idea for the topping of the toffee buns, I made a ganache, using weight for weight double cream and
It was SO good. I could have drank it!
However, I let it go cold and whisked it up till thick and creamy. I made some really ugly but ever so moreish butterfly cakes with it and the toffee buns.
I also made some chocolate fairy cakes

I planted some little winter pansies and a silvery thing atop my hopefully amazing purple Spring bulb display.
I also had some of this. It tasted JUST like being nine years old!

Right that's my Monday done with. Nothing much to report really. I've nearly finished one of the umpteen knits I've got going. Photos soon.

Lots of love from
Rachel *off to bed in a minute* Radiostar xx

  1. All gone already?! Wow, there's some hungry bodies in your house! Mind you, it all looks so scrumptious I'm not surprised it's all been eaten. Love the look of that loaf, I do like granary bread.....a bit too much actually.

    1. There's much sitting down between items on the above list. I'd describe myself as super sedentary!

  4. I love a baking day, when I had a house full it seemed to be every other day. Now I just make 2 cakes every now and then and then share them round my friends.

    1. I didn't manage such a big one sadly! It didn't seem as elastic as it used to be...probably had to remove that ingredient for health n safety!

    1. Thanks Kathy! I think I'll remember that a lot more easily than Phillip's correct name for it!

  10. That's a marathon baking session if ever I saw one and it all looks delicious, no wonder it's all gone. I bought Amy a caramac ice cream lolly years ago and she still asks for them, but I can't find them anywhere, not even in the shop where all good Mums go. Just looking at that picture of the bubbly gum has brought the taste of it right back to me. No 10p mix up was complete without one.xx

    1. 10p mix up!!! We used the exact words! We could choose when we were little, a 10p mix up OR a bag of rainbow drops and a Freddo!
