21 and 100

Aged 4 months

Aged 8 months

Aged 12 months

I may be biased but my baby boy was utterly adorable. He still is! He was 21 on the 21st April 2018. I did coffee and cake for anyone who would like to come and it was knackering for me, but enjoyable for everyone else!
For the first time in forever, I baked. And I really enjoyed myself- I was very restrained and didst not lick my fingers at all!
Birthday cake - plain with fresh cream was the request.

I also made a huge toffee fudge traybake and some SW friendly lemon, coconut and blueberry muffins. Best laugh of the day goes to Nanna V for discussing pet dogs with my friends and my two offspring. Nanna V said her neighbour had a poodle I think it was.  Oh, said my friend, we've got a cockerpoo.

Ahhh yes, said Nanna V, all knowingly, its one of those mixed race dogs!!!!!!!!!

Everyone admired my bargainous 20p roses!

It was a lovely day and Mr 21 was thoroughly spoilt! Hopefully he will remember it fondly. The day his mother made him stay in Aunt Ressie's Shady Pines home for the elderly ( all the Nannas and  grandads sat in the lounge ) and wouldn't let him go to the pub with his friends!!!

So.... at my 38th weigh in tonight at SW, I've lost another 2lbs taking my total to a
Doesn't seem possible or real! I celebrated with a hi if chocolate bar for 3syns! A bit of a ways to go yet but I'm taking it one week at a time, a pound at a time. No rush!

I've pinned out my first Luna. I was going to cut out tonight and make a start, but I wanted to post this blog and then sleep. It's been a long hard day at work today. It's ok, I can wait.

Hope everyone is well.

Lots of love from

My new long service award seat is up and has been sat upon in my garden!

  1. OMG 100lbs., that is amazing. You've lost a whole small person! You must feel really proud of yourself. Surely you don't need to lose any more. Happy Birthday to MR.21, the cake looks very yummy and the flowers are beautiful.

    1. Thank you Janice. A few more pounds off won't hurt! I had much to,lose!

  2. A belated Happy Birthday to your boy! I expect it feels no time at all since that first photograph was taken. The cakes look delicious.
Huge congratulations on your weight loss too. It's an amazing ahievement. I am in awe of your dedication and will power. X

    1. Hi Jules, it kinda feels the opposite - a billion years ago since he was a baby! I'd love to go ba ck and have one more baby cuddle!!!

  3. Woo - hoo. What a glorious time you are having one way and another. Absolutely brilliant, all of it. Freddie is saying '100 lbs???? Amazing!'

  4. Congratulations both to your son on his Birthday and to you on a great weight loss. The mixed race dog comment is still making me smile.

    1. Mongrols and cross breeds will forever be known as mixed race dogs now!

  5. What a lovely day for your 21 y.o. (and what a smiley cutie he was!)....bet he really did enjoy it - he can go to the pub with his mates anytime! Your nanna's comment was priceless. Gorgeous roses. And a huge WELL DONE for losing 100lbs!!!

  6. Firstly, well done on the weight loss, it's amazing, every pound loss is closer to your goal. If I tell you when my birthday is will you come and bake for me, yours looks yummy! Can't wait to see your sewing, mine is still a pile of material on our dining room table!!! Now all you need is summer to arrive so you can use the outside seating.

  7. Lovely pictures. Wow!, 100lbs, well done.

  8. A Very Happy 21st to your young man. He was definitely a very cute baby. Cake with family sounds a good way to celebrate, Amy tends to go for the quieter options of celebrating with family although I have my suspicions it's all a decoy going off the number of wine bottles I come back to after a weekend at the van!

Fantastic news on the weight loss front. You seem so focused on the end goal I honestly don't think you're going to have a problem getting there.

Love the mixed race dog comment. I can't wait until I get older so I can say what I want and people will just ignore me because they think I've gone dotty. Older people come out with the most hilarious things. Mark thinks people paying for crossbreed dogs is really odd and says in his day they used to be called mongrels. And on that note I'll wish you a happy week. xx

  9. Lovely post as always. HUGE congrats on your weight loss- that is seriously impressive- and to your lad on his birthday and to Nannas for unintentionally making people laugh. Did you leave the price tag on those roses so people could be impressed by your frugality? :o) XXX

  10. Happy 21st birthday ti Mr 21. The birthday cake looks tasty.

  11. Belated Birthday Wishes Mr 21.
Congratulations on your amazing weight loss. Mine is coming off at a good pace too and I should be 'bikini ready' by...oooh I should say about 2050....lol.

  12. Congratulations on your wonderful weight loss, you are so sensible to be doing it slowly. The cake ( and celebrations) looked lovely. April 21st is our Wedding Anniversary and also the Queen's Birthday. JanF

  13. well done on the weight loss and that cake looks scrummy.

  14. What a lovely post-all those good things to record. Especially well done on your amazing weight loss and resisting the cake you had made.

  15. Happy belated birthday to your son. Well done you for persevering with SW. Lovely baby photo's xxx

  16. You are going to have to change your bio to 'small and Northern', not round and squishy anymore. Well done you...
