That's what time it is now. I'm awake and cannot get back to sleep. I woke up with crippling heartburn, during a very very strange dream about chicken feet!!
The heartburn's because we ate tea very late but a gaviscon tablet has cured that. The throaty/ears that arrived Wednesday afternoon after Lego Therapy, thankfully disappearing during the worst Thursday at work for a long time, are making themselves felt again. Along with a snotty nose! Also, my shoulder is itchy. Another sign I'm fighting a cold!
Work is bloody hard right now. Yesterday was so full on I could have cried at home time. My brain was full of other's angst, and the neediness was relentless. I'm not sure how much more I can take.
So much so I think I'd convinced myself when I woke up just now that it was Saturday.
Le sigh. One more day until Saturday.
Miss 21 is having the time of her life in New Zealand. The photos she is sending are amazing. She went to The Lost Springs yesterday. Shes in Whitianga which she says is pronounced PHitianga. She's off on a glass bottomed boat today. She's on North Island at the moment. Later on on her trip she's off to Milford Sound, which is South Island I think, to go whale watching.
Tonight, when we nipped to the Supermarket for bread, I noticed all the turkeys in the freezer were half price, so I gobbled one up into my trolley for the freezer! It'll do for Easter.
During a lighter moment in class today I was charming my group with the little rhyme my beloved Nanna taught me. It never fails to get me chuckling. I think I've mentioned it before on my blog.
When you're dancing with your honey,
And his nose is rather runny,
Don't think that it's funny
'Cause it's not.
Hahahahahahahahaaaa!!!!!!
Here are a few photos nicked off FB that have also made me laugh out loud. I need lots of humour in my life right now else I'd crack up!
This is rather on the early side, in't it? Have you managed to get back off to sleep again?
ReplyDeleteI get the occasional bout of heartburn and it is horrid. Sending sympathetic vibes . . .

Thanks Joy x
DeleteFrom one insomniac to another - I share your sleeplessness. Loving that croc v. gator tip! x
ReplyDeleteIt's so annoying isn't it!!
DeleteI'm rather fond of chicken feet - chilli flavoured. I always order them whenever we have dim sum. Alas, I've never dreamed about them.
ReplyDeleteI've never eaten them!! Nor am I ever likely to! You can have mine!
DeleteI have been nursing an "ear thing" the pills make me so woozy that I have been unable to string 2 words together that make sense. Getting better now though.
ReplyDeleteHope you are getting better now Pam x
DeleteThere is so much poorliness about at the moment isn't there? I hope yours 'does one' soon.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that your daughter is having a fab time. I hope she posts some pics of South Island as that is where we were going to live if we went there.
Hugs-x-
I'll share the photos Sheila. Thanks for the sympathy! I revel in it, attention seeker that I am!
DeleteStill laughing here, bit of a grrr day at work so your post once again has cheered me up, Glad to see Pam's comment above xxx
ReplyDeleteI wonder if
Delete'Might have a bit of a grrrr day'
Is on our Job Description?!!!
Get well soon. I'll send you get better vibes when I'm awake at 3.30.

Why is sleep so hard to come by sometimes?!!
DeleteHope that you are feeling a bit better by now, look after yourself. xx
ReplyDeletePerfectly recovered thank you Amy xx
DeleteHope you manage to shake that cold off before it has a chance to take hold. DS2 has an awful cold at the moment and I'm really hoping we don't all catch it. I keep telling him he's quarantined in his bedroom on the second floor, but unfortunately he insists he needs food and water so keeps coming downstairs. Kids can be so selfish. LOL!!! Sorry you're having such a bad time at work, hope next week is better. Gorgeous pics from your daughter. We actually enquired about emigrating to New Zealand a few years ago but don't think we would have gone through with it; can't imagine now being that far away from the family. Feel better soon, honey. Love Helen xx
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine it either. I'm hoping she's not falling so deeply in love with it she wants to stay! Somebody obviously told DS2 that you have to feed a cold!!!
DeleteI hope you're feeling a bit brighter today. It sounds like Miss 21 is having a fabulous time. Well done on the turkey. I got some fancy mincemeat for 50p a jar. I'm putting it away for Christmas. The use by date isn't until 2017. I assume they need the shelf space. X
ReplyDeleteOh that's fantastic ! I normally get me some bargain mincemeat too but have forgotten to look this year! I've still a couple of 10p jars left from last year's haul!
DeleteSympathise totally about the heartburn. I suffer from it and indigestion. Horrible. Sounds like Miss 21 is having a fantastic time. If you ever feel tempted to run away and join her I'd be more than happy to forge a sick note for you. Is it the adults or the children (or both) that are making work so hard right now and is it test related? I'm asking because Thomas seems to be doing endless tests at school, just wondering if it's that time of year. Hope you got back to sleep and you're feeling better. We've all been unwell to some degree or other here this week. xx
ReplyDeleteTesting is a hideous side of the work school's do. Progress isn't just about if they can answer a question correctly in a test. Bloody government!
DeleteI got it! (the rhyme). LOVE the alligator / crocodile picture. Thanks for making me smile! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome! Have you shared the rhyme?! I love it!
