A busy week!

I cannot believe how fast this last week has gone. I could get used to working Monday, Thursday and Friday!
Yesterday I went to work, I say work. I went through the lines with the actors of the ks2 nativity. We started decorating the salt dough gingerbread men, they do look cute - I'll take a photo on Monday. If I remember!! Because Monday is the fair. Then the whole school walked crocodile fashion into town to the theatre to watch Beauty and the Beast. It was great. I love watching their faces watching the action. Then it was coaches back to school for 5pm. Stuck in the traffic, the kids decided to sing their way through the Nativity!
I had a surprise at Sainsburys- a random bonus nectar points voucher.
That's £25!!! I have no idea why!
It'll go towards some groceries!
I also confess to having one of these!! Meringue, covered in white chocolate, a big splodge of caramel/fudge/toffee, approx 6 inches of whipped cream topped with toffee sauce. It was sooooooooooo good! Sickly, but goooood!! Anyhow, everybody knows meringues are fat free .....

Ahem.
Today I have made another cushion cover.
There they are together. I've just three little scenes left and the panel borders. I've 1/2m of the backing material left to make my final cover. I'm just not sure how I'll appliqué the pictures on

Today, Mr 18 and I assembled the new tree. It's a lot bushier than my old one and very HURTY on bare arms!
It's quite realistic for a plastic tree!!
Step 1. The base

Step 2. I'll decide where it's going - ont floor or ont table.

Step 3. Get this little lot in these boxes on it !!

Think my boxes have seen better days!

These are this year's new baubles. In real life they are a gorgeous shade of purple. Hand blown glass.  And finally I treated myself to this....

Weeeeell, it IS Christmas!!

Back soon with tree updates!
Lots of love from

  2. That fat free meringue sounds quite disgustingly wonderful, perhaps you should have another just to make sure. I do prefer raspberries, clotted cream and dark chocolate with mine, oh and some preserved ginger with a drizzle of the syrup. That is an awesome pile of glittery baubles and stuff, is the tree 20ft tall, and how will you reach the top? I have to slither under the bed to haul my boxes out, I got them down from the loft a couple of weeks ago to be handy. Your tree does look very real, mine is one of those tall skinny ones, a bit like Naomi Campbell. Slender, elegant and as prickly as hell.

    1. I'm laughing here Pam! The tree is 7ft tall and not all the boxes are tree stuff! Just most of them! I have a little pair of steps that I make the tall folks in the house go up to put the stuff on the tree!! Naomi Campbell lol lol

  3. Had to stop myself from licking the screen, I do love a fat free, zero calorie, cholesterol busting meringue! Nothing wrong with them plastic 'modern' boxes, my old 'cardboard' xmas dec boxes are held together with lots of cellotape! In time there comes a point of honour to keep old stuff going, just like the paper driving licence!

    1. I still use a old style paper license! Please don't lick my screen, it's filthy and it needs a clean. But I have zero time for dusting until Saturday! I can't go shopping tonight due to nativity related antics so I'm relying on my HG to bring me a meringue back!! I think I'm addicted!

  4. Crikey Mrs..........I thought I had a lot of Christmas decoration boxes but I think you beat me there. I currently have three different themes each in their own huge box plus a few other boxes with greenery, picks, table linen, wreathes and other stuff. I just chose which theme and then only have to bring that box down thank goodness.
I lurrrrrrrrve meringues but just plain with whipped cream does for me.
    Have a lovely day-x-

    1. Well, you've seen the tree. I couldn't afford to switch to another colour screen, unless I win the lottery! Though I do love the booze, mulberry and turquoise baubles and things you can get now.
Have a lovely day yourself xx

  5. Are you really sure you have enough boxes of decorations??
The meringue thingy looks eye wateringly sweet but truly scrumptious
Loved the "pictures" of your crocodile of children and the singing on the bus. Nothing to beat happy kids at Christmas.

    1. "Enough boxes of decorations" that's an odd phrase , one simply cannot have enough decorations!!! I do only buy a new gorgeous bauble or two a year!! A few of the boxes are dining room decorations and one box has all my wrapping presents paraphanalia in it!

  6. trees are more complicated these days, but they do look good, I have as many boxes as you, I don't use every thing each year. When we purchased our new tree, I change from plastic to glass balls, most of the purchased in January once the price drops to half price. I love fat free food as well, Jelly Babies being one of the best.

    1. I love jelly babies too and now I have to have some! I always go to a posh garden centre and espy the heavily priced glass baubles with the express determination to go buy one half price or less in the sales!!

  8. What a lovely bonus. Think how many meringues you could buy with that or maybe another bottle or two of Baileys:) The cushions really are lovely and the angel is right up my street. Your tree looks as though it assembles like mine, although it's much bushier than the one I've got. In fact at first glance I thought it was real. What a lot of decs you've got! Do you use them all? Hope you enjoyed your night out. xx
